Kevin Vallejos took a giant step toward a top 10 ranking, handily defeating Josh Emmett in the UFC Vegas 114 headliner on Saturday.
After a methodical start to the round, Vallejos hit his target with a perfectly timed counter right that put Emmett on wobbly legs.
Already smelling blood in the water, Vallejos unleashed a flurry of strikes against the fence. Emmett held on for as long as he could, but once he hit the mat, referee Herb Dean had seen enough.
Official Result: Kevin Vallejos def. Josh Emmett via TKO (strikes) at 3:33 of Round 1.
Vallejos outlanded Emmett 42-2, delivering the most dominant victory of the evening. With the win, Vallejos moved to 18-1 in his mixed martial arts career and 4-0 under the UFC banner.
