Khamzat Chimaev wants to hit the wrestling mats with controversial MMA star Colby Covington under the Real American Freestyle banner.
Although Chimaev has to defend his UFC middleweight championship soon, “Borz” recently showed interest in competing in the next RAF event on March 28.
RAF 06 on Saturday was a blockbuster headlined by Henry Cejudo and Urijah Faber. The post-fight melee between Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas right after the co-main also made rounds on the internet and drew attention, making it a win-win night for the franchise.
Additionally, after the main event, it was announced that Merab Dvalishvili will make his promotional debut in the RAF 08 headliner on April 18 against “Triple C.”
Meanwhile, Chimaev, while watching RAF 06 on television, called out Colby Covington. “Borz” posted on X:
Next RAF I will make American boy humble again colbiclown let’s go 🦾😂”

“Chaos,” on the other hand, appeared on stage at RAF 06 and called out Arman Tsarukyan, Kamaru Usman, and Georges St-Pierre.
Khamzat Chimaev says he is waiting for Sean Strickland
Right after Khamzat Chimaev posted saying he will humble Colby Covington, a fan asked “Borz” on X if he’s injured, and Chimaev immediately replied, saying:
No I waiting for strikiland [Sean Strickland]”

There were reports that Chimaev is recovering after a minor foot surgery and is expected to make the first defense of his 185-pound strap after Ramadan, potentially against No. 2 contender Nassourdine Imavov, who is riding a five-fight win streak.
However, with Sean Strickland most recently returning to winning ways by TKOing the surging Anthony Hernandez at UFC Houston last month, it appears that “Tarzan” may have stolen Imavov’s chances of facing the Chechen-born Emirati next.
Chimaev’s aforementioned X comment and the constant back-and-forth between “Borz” and “Tarzan” strongly suggest that former champ Strickland is getting a title shot again.
Meanwhile, Strickland wasted no time in replying to Chimaev.
