Former UFC flyweight Muhammad Mokaev (13-0) says that he’s been invited back to the UFC. However, he won’t be entering the octagon. Instead, he could be fighting for a UFC BJJ title.
Mokaev claims he has been offered to compete against reigning UFC BJJ Bantamweight Champion Mikey Musumeci. About that, ‘The Punisher’ posted on X:
I have been offered to compete against Mikey Musumeci for the UFC BJJ belt What do you think guys? 🙂”

For now, Mikey Musumeci is going to defend his bantamweight title against No-Gi BJJ world champion Shay Montague at UFC BJJ 5 on February 12, 2026. Hence, whether the promotion will pay heed to the potential Mokaev matchup anytime soon remains a question.

Meanwhile, fans reacted to Mokaev’s post. Many asked the 25-year-old to accept the bout, as it could be his return ticket to the octagon. However, some had mixed feelings.
A fan commented:
Take that belt and then come back and take the UFC belt”
Another chimed in:
Bro don’t ask us!! Take it ASAP!! No one cares if you lose to Mikey, and I feel this is your way back in to the UFC so you can dominate again”
A few others wrote:
Great opportunity to become first BJJ – MMA double champ in UFC history!”
Do it so we can get you back in UFC”
I think he’s gonna destroy your legs if you don’t tap early 🙂 I think you’re highly talented and an MMA fight would be different… but you fighting him in UFC BJJ is his world. He’s gonna kangaroo hop onto you, and there’s nothing you can do about it!!”
