Arman Tsarukyan has done what it takes inside the octagon to deserve another shot at the UFC lightweight championship. However, because of his past antics, he was denied the opportunity early in 2026 by the UFC head brass.
However, ‘Ahalkalakets’ has now promised to be a “good boy” and requested Hunter Campbell and Dana White to give him a title shot next.
Most recently, Arman Tsarukyan was interviewed by Daniel Cormier. During the sit-down, the 29-year-old on record asked White and Campbell to forgive him for his past mistakes and give him another chance to fight for the undisputed belt.
“Dana and Hunter, forgive me. Give me a title fight. I’m a good boy. I’m not going to hit anybody anymore.”

Tsarukyan was given his first chance at undisputed gold in 2025 against then-155-pound champion Islam Makhachev. However, the challenger had to pull out in the eleventh hour from the high-stakes rematch because of a hernia. Renato Moicano stepped in as a replacement and was submitted by Makhachev in Round 1.
After the pullout, ‘Ahalkalakets’ made weight for UFC 317, beat Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar later in 2025, and then called out the champion, Ilia Topuria.
However, Dana White denied him a title shot and chose Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje to fight for the interim title in Topuria’s absence. This past weekend at UFC 324, Gaethje grabbed the interim belt after dismantling Pimblett in a five-round war.
‘The Highlight’ is next in line to unify the titles with ‘El Matador.’ Hence, Arman Tsarukyan has to WAIT.
Other than the aforementioned pullout, Arman Tsarukyan previously punched a fan at UFC 300 plus headbutted Dan Hooker at the UFC Qatar final faceoff post-weigh-ins, which contributed to his not getting a title shot. Dana White has been pretty vocal about it.
Dan Hooker says he’s “closer” to a title shot than Arman Tsarukyan
After suffering a submission loss at UFC Qatar to Arman Tsarukyan, Dan Hooker will look to return to winning ways this weekend at UFC 325, when he battles Benoit Saint Denis.
Earlier today, Hooker and Tsarukyan had an online back-and-forth after the 35-year-old alleged that the Armenian had broken his nose before the UFC Qatar fight with the headbutt.
However, Tsarukyan denied it and mocked ‘The Hangman,’ by posting on X:
“Come on, Dan”
In response, Hooker took a lighthearted jab at Tsarukyan by claiming that he is closer to a title shot than ‘Ahalkalakets.’
“4 days away from being closer [to] a title than you. 😂”
