Arman Tsarukyan showed no mercy to Paddy Pimblett earlier tonight after the latter suffered his first-ever UFC loss.
Pimblett locked horns with Justin Gaethje to headline UFC 324, where the interim lightweight title was up for grabs. The Liverpudlian was the favorite in the odds-makers’ books. However, Gaethje proved them all wrong.
‘The Highlight’ did exactly what he promised. He dogwalked Pimblett for five rounds, landed the sharper combinations, and dictated the pace.
The 37-year-old also showcased strong takedown defense when it mattered. Gaethje marched forward relentlessly, piecing up Pimblett round after round, taking him into deep waters. He dropped the Brit multiple times, took numerous risks, and got rewarded in the end.
After 25 minutes of pure brawl, ‘The Highlight’ secured a unanimous decision victory and became the first fighter in UFC history to become a two-time interim champion.

After Justin Gaethje got his hand raised at UFC 324, Arman Tsarukyan was quick to congratulate the former and, at the same time, also take a dig at Pimblett.
He posted on Threads:
“This clown couldn’t beat Gaethje on antibiotics 🤣🤣🤣”
Tsarukyan did not just stop there. On X, he pointed out that Pimblett did not deserve a title shot but still got one and hence lost:
“That’s what happens when you’re gifted opportunities and pushed up the rankings artificially, a completely undeserved title shot for Paddy. Congratulations to Justin. He showed real heart, and unlike others, he’ll step up and take the fight with me. Respect”

The tensions between the Armenian and ‘The Baddy’ kicked off last year when the UFC chose Pimblett to fight for the interim belt over Tsarukyan, who is the No. 1-ranked 155-pounder. Since then, the two have been at odds. Both have taken countless digs at each other in interviews and on social media in the past few weeks.
Dana White gives his two cents on Paddy Pimblett’s UFC 324 performance
At the UFC 324 post-fight presser, Dana White lauded Paddy Pimblett for sticking to the game plan and trying to deliver as he had promised.
White emphasized that ‘The Baddy’ wanted to knock Gaethje out, and even though he got knocked down a couple of times in his pursuit of knocking out the KO artist, he still tried to chase what he had promised to fans and White. Commending Pimblett’s toughness, the UFC CEO said:
“I didn’t know Paddy Pimblett had a chin like that until tonight. So Paddy Pimblett at the weigh-ins yesterday says, ‘I am gonna knock this motherf**ker out tomorrow,’ and I was like that’s interesting. And he never abandoned that game plan, even when he got dropped a couple of times. I kept waiting for him. I’m like, he’s eventually going to have to shoot and try to submit him. But no.”
