Natália Silva scored the biggest win of her career at UFC 324, defeating former strawweight queen ‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas.
While the opening round didn’t deliver any fireworks, Namajunas’ footwork was the story of the stanza, as she prevented Silva from getting in close enough range to deploy her offense.
As the fight continued into the second. Namajunas appeared to be gaining confidence. However, Silva was determined to change the narrative. Just past the two-minute mark of the round, Silva shot in for her first takedown. Namajunas fended off the attempt, but ultimately ended up with her back against the cage as Silva went to work in the clinch.

Before long, Namajunas reversed and scored a takedown of her own, putting Silva’s back on the mat with 90 seconds to go in the round. Silva went fishing for submissions from the bottom, but Namajunas was hip to it and held the dominant position through the end of the round.

Official Result: Natália Silva def. Rose Namajunas via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
