Justin Gaethje wants his name to be etched in the history books as the ‘most exciting, consistent, and violent’ fighter who has ever graced the octagon.

This weekend, ‘The Highlight’ will headline UFC 324 opposite Paddy Pimblett for the interim lightweight championship.

This could be Gaethje’s last fight if he loses. On the other hand, it could also be the start of a new journey for ‘The Highlight’ if he beats Pimblett, grabs the interim lightweight title again, and then dethrones champion Ilia Topuria and claims the undisputed strap.

Gaethje and his head coach have previously opined that if the 37-year-old is crowned as the undisputed 155-pound UFC champion in 2026, then he would look to defend his title more than a couple of times before potentially retiring.

‘The Highlight’ never fails to entertain with his spectacular violence and forward aggression every time he steps into the octagon, which is why he remains a fan favorite. To date, he has earned nine Fight of the Night bonuses and five Performance of the Night awards. Even on the back end of his career, Justin Gaethje has similar plans in mind. In the UFC 324 countdown episode, he said:

“I want to be remembered as the most exciting, most consistent, most violent guy that’s ever stepped in there. Nothing matches the highs or the lows that this sport brings. Anything can happen at any moment – my fighting style just amplifies that. I’ve committed my whole life to this journey, and every person who pays for a ticket gets their money’s worth every single time. I usually turn people into animals, and that’s what people pay for.”

Check out Justin Gaethje’s comments below (9:53):

Justin Gaethje does not plan on going the distance with Paddy Pimblett

Paddy Pimblett plans on securing a knockout or a submission win against ‘The Highlight’ under three rounds and has also predicted a stand-up KO.

On the other hand, Justin Gaethje plans on ruining the Brit’s plans of standing and banging by forcing him to wrestle.

The 37-year-old also does not plan on throwing down for the entire 25 minutes and is predicting a stoppage victory. In the same UFC 324 countdown epsiode, posted above, he added:

“I do not plan on this fight going the distance. I am going to finish this off the right way.”
