Charles Oliveira dethroned BMF titleholder Max Holloway earlier tonight at UFC 326.
However, the bout did not go like a typical Baddest Mother**cker Fight, as “Do Bronxs” was focused on victory and revenge in the rematch rather than doing it the pure BMF way.
The Brazilian scored five takedowns, racked up nearly 21 minutes of control time, and even threatened submissions on Holloway. He denied “Blessed” any chance to stand and trade and took him down in the opening seconds of every round.
After 25 minutes, “Do Bronxs” cruised to a unanimous decision victory and got the win back, but several fans and fighters were neither pleased nor entertained.
The MMA community was left disappointed with the 36-year-old’s UFC 326 performance, as this was a BMF title fight, meant to be a slugfest, the way fans have come to expect from previous contenders and champions like Holloway, Dustin Poirier, Jorge Masvidal, and Nate Diaz.
However, “Do Bronxs” was not game to even box with “Blessed” for the entire last 10 seconds of the fifth stanza.

Conor McGregor, who wants to fight Charles Oliveira in July, was not impressed with how the latter fought Max Holloway earlier tonight. “The Notorious” opined on X:
Shockingly bad fight. I am shocked. Charles is a little Charlie, ahahaha, very bad Charles, very bad. Hang your head bad. Good luck. Don’t crown that belt.”
In another subsequent post, the Irishman added:
If they want, I’ll spank Charlie.”
Meanwhile, Dan Hooker did not hold back after Charles Oliveira went emotional after winning the BMF strap at UFC 326.

Ryan Garcia was also not a fan of Oliveira’s grappling-heavy approach against Holloway. “King Ry” posted the basics on X:
BMF needs to be required to stand and bang, that’s it”
Garcia opined that after watching the UFC 326 headliner, he has made up his mind that he will never compete under MMA rules.
And no, I wouldn’t want to do MMA, some dude breathing down my neck on top of me for 25 min that doesn’t want to actually fight. I’m cool, you will never see me in the octagon. I’m sorry.”
