Arman Tsarukyan recently took the lie detector test. While playing the truth-or-lie game, the Armenian answered multiple questions. Let’s go through them one by one.
Question Number 1
The first question presented to Arman Tsarukyan during the polygraph test was:
Are there fighters in the sport who get more hype than they deserve?
The 29-year-old replied:
Yes, for example, Paddy Pimblett.”
The polygraph test confirmed that the answer is true. Even in the past, when Pimblett fought for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324, Tsarukyan blasted the matchmakers and “The Baddy,” opining that the Brit does not deserve a title shot over him.
Question No. 2
Do you believe that you would beat Ilia [Topuria]?
“Ahalkalakets” added:
Yes. I believe it. I believe in myself always.”
Arman Tsarukyan is confident he can dethrone the UFC lightweight champion, and the lie detector machine also recorded his response as true.
Question No. 3
Do fans give you the recognition you believe you deserve?”
The Armenian added:
From people, yes. From bosses, maybe not.”
This response also entered the truth column.
Question No. 4
Do you believe you gave Islam Makhachev the hardest fight ever?”
On his UFC debut in 2018, “Ahalkalakets” faced Islam Makhachev, and after three rounds of intense grappling exchanges, the Russian fighter got his hand raised.
However, Tsarukyan says Alexander Volkanovski gave Makhachev the hardest fight, something the latter also believes.
When Tsarukyan responded to the lie detector’s question and added:
No. I think Alexander Volkanovski. “
The polygraph recorded his answer as a lie.
Question No. 6
Are you really that rich?”
From eating extravagant foods to owning lucky watches and cars, Arman Tsarukyan has it all. However, during the lie detector test, he said he’s not actually that rich.
No, not yet”
Tsarukyan’s “no” was treated as a lie by the polygraph.
Question No. 7
Are you afraid of Dana White?”
After the UFC 311 title fight pullout, “Ahalkalakets” had to work hard to get back in the good graces of Dana White and the promotion, and now, after making several amends, it seems like the 29-year-old will finally get a title shot later this year.
However, during the test, when asked if he’s scared of the UFC boss, Tsarukyan said “NO,” another answer, which was recorded as a lie.
Arman Tsarukyan answers whether he has ever faked an injury to avoid a dangerous fight
The Final question asked was:
Have you ever pretended an injury just to avoid a dangerous fight?”
Many believe that Arman Tsarukyan could not make weight for the UFC 311 fight with then-lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, and therefore backed out even before hitting the scales.
However, the Armenian later revealed that he had a hernia and therefore could not run it back with Makhachev.
During the polygraph test, however, he replied to the above question with a “Yes,” and the results indicated that his response was a lie.
