Jorge Masvidal UFC White House Card: Former BMF Champ Eyes Comeback Fight Against Conor McGregor

Jorge Masvidal has confirmed he plans to return from retirement for one specific opportunity: fighting at the UFC White House card scheduled for June 14, 2026. The former BMF champion made the announcement during an interview on his podcast, Death Row MMA, stating the White House lawn represents the only venue that could bring him back to competition.

Speaking in an interview with Death Row MMA, ‘Gamebred’ Jorge Masvidal explained:

“I definitely should be on that White House card. I know they have a different plan where they want to go all title fights, but whatever. Hopefully I get in there somehow, someway. I think I would add a lot of value to that card. I’ve been training, getting ready for it. What is that, June? I’ll be in good shape to throw down.

“We’ll break records. What’s the percentage that happens? 100% will do. We’ll wreck all of Paramount’s records and that’s all that matters, right? It’s about bringing in that viewership for them. That’s a done deal. They know if they put that together, we’re going to crash their streaming site.

“I don’t know yet, but maybe in five to six days, I think I might know some good news. It’s not looking bad. It’s headed in the right direction. It’s all in God’s hands always. Dana is hard to read. That’s what makes him special. When he doesn’t want something to be known, he just doesn’t. This card has been kept pretty secretive.

“Who else makes sense to fight Conor? It doesn’t even make sense. The only reason why it doesn’t make sense is because I’m a bad style for that dude. I beat the hell out of him standing. I’m bigger than him. Conor knows it. I’m faster than him with the hand speed. It’s a bad fight for him, bro. Stylistically, I do well with southpaws, too. I’ll just manhandle that boy. It’s not going to be a good move for Conor. They need to give Conor somebody that he could beat, and that ain’t me.”

“Look, man, at this point in my career, there’s only one thing that really gets me out of bed in the morning to do a full MMA camp, and that’s the White House card,” Masvidal told Death Row MMA. “I fought everywhere – Playboy Mansion, Madison Square Garden, London, you name it – but nobody’s ever fought on the White House lawn. That’s history”.

Masvidal emphasized his connection to President Donald Trump as a central factor in his desire to compete at the event. The 41-year-old campaigned for Trump during the 2020 election cycle, speaking at rallies in Florida including events in Tampa, Orlando, and Miami. “I was out there on the campaign trail, I spoke at rallies, I helped him get Miami, helped him get Florida,” Masvidal said. “That’s not me saying it – that’s him saying it on camera: ‘Jorge got me Florida, Jorge got me Miami.'”

The Miami native, whose parents immigrated from Cuba and Peru, described the potential White House fight as more meaningful than financial compensation. “I’m a Latin motherf*cker from immigrant parents on both sides, putting my craft on display at the highest level in front of the president,” he said. “That’s something my kids, my grandkids are going to talk about”.

Regarding potential opponents, Masvidal expressed openness to facing anyone on the card, though he mentioned both Leon Edwards and Conor McGregor as possibilities. “Everybody’s asking, ‘Is it Conor? Is it Leon? Is it some other dude?’ Listen, I don’t give a fuck who it is if it’s at the White House,” Masvidal stated. He referenced his history with Edwards, alluding to their 2019 backstage altercation in London where he delivered what became known as the “three-piece and a soda” punch. “Me and Leon got history. I’ve got no ill will toward Leon as a man, but I’d still love to punch him in the face and settle that three‑piece and a soda”.

Masvidal retired from MMA following a unanimous decision loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 in April 2023, marking his fourth consecutive defeat. He holds a professional record of 35-17 and last competed in combat sports during a boxing match against Nate Diaz in July 2024, which he lost by majority decision. The UFC White House card coincides with President Trump’s 80th birthday and is expected to feature multiple championship fights. UFC CEO Dana White stated matchmaking for the event would begin after UFC 324 on January 24, 2026.
