Umar Nurmagomedov added another big win to his resume at UFC 324, delivering a dominant performance against former flyweight king Deiveson Figueiredo.
After leaning on his kicks early, Nurmagomedov shot in for his first takedown three minutes into the opening round. Figueiera utilized the guillotine to defend and get back to his feet, but it wasn’t long before Nurmagomedov shot in once again. This time, he would get Figueiredo’s back to the mat with just over a minute to go in the round.
Nurmagomedov proceeded to drop bombs from the top, but he was unable to find the early finish, sending us to the second.

It was more of the same in the second, though Figueiredo avoided being taken down despite multiple takedown attempts from Nurmagomedov. With the clock winding down in the round, Figueiredo turned up the heat by unleashing a flurry of strikes in close.
Figueiredo wasn’t able to land anything clean, but it did give the former flyweight champion some much-needed life in an otherwise stagnant performance.

Unfortunately, the little bit of momentum Figueiredo carried into the third was snuffed out quickly as Nurmagomedov scored a takedown two minutes into the round.
Official Result: Umar Nurmagomedov def. Deiveson Figueiredo via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
