Single Play

Pat Sabatini (+190)

Sabatini takes on Joanderson Burrito in a sleazy fan match in the co-main event. Brito has a good run in the UFC (and that should be better as he deserves to take down William Gomis in September), but I don’t think he should be this big favorite. This is a classic striker vs grappler matchup, but Brito also starts Grappling Exchange. The burrito is enough grappler to avoid being tapped, but if this reaches the floor, Sabatini should control and win, and I think enough wrestling is enough to make it happen.

Tarita Allenker (-114)

Alencar takes on Vanessa Demopoulos in his first fight on Saturday evening, but this is a simple breakdown. The Demopole is primarily a grappler, but the Alencar is better. When Demopoulos was just starting out at BJJ, Alencar had won the World Championships. Demopoulos is not a great wrestler either, so it’s not that likely this will stay on the feet and turn into bad kickboxing. This should go to the ground, and the Alencar is the bigger fish in that pond.

Prop bets

No decision by Josh Emmett (+140)

Saturday’s main event has long odds and frankly, I think they’re too long. Yes, Emmett is 40 years old and has been out for over a year, but he is still a very dangerous fighter, and Murphy is not the world. More importantly, I’ve seen Murphy get injured before. Emmett is one of the best power punchers in the division.

But instead of taking a shot with Emmett at the price of a big underdog, we thought we would try something a little safer. For beginners, this bet drives whether it leads to a decision, so basically we either Emmett gets a KO and win, or Murphy wins a decision and we get the money back.

Parley

Two weeks of parlay hits, go three in a row and go back to the gimmick. This week is round 3 Candidate Series A prospect I underestimated.

Lewis Grule (-265)

Grull will face Ode Osborne in the main card flyweight match, but I didn’t appreciate him as a prospect. Candidate Serieson my second reflection, he got a little better. Gurule is a former FURC FC champion and a D-II university wrestler and is already ready. The guy has good grappling and good cardio, and his only real knock is that he is 31 years old. Osborne, on the other hand, is a known entity and expects Gruul to take control of this fight with his wrestling.

Daniel Furunza (-158)

Furnza will face Reese Mackey in a reserve welterweight contest where I like to beat him. For one thing, Furnza is a crude striker with the shade of Brian Barberana. In other cases, Rhys McKee cannot buy victory in the UFC. On two promotional trips, he’s 0-4. Mackie is going to give Hunza the impressive contest he wants, and Franza has him more dogs so Mackie should fall 0-5.
