UFC 328 is STACKED and now has a date, location, and a BLOCKBUSTER main event.
On Thursday, UFC CEO Dana White announced every main event until the UFC Freedom 250 card.
Coming back to UFC 328. It takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on May 9.
In the main event, UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev will take on former champion Sean Strickland. “Borz” won the title last year at UFC 319 after ragdolling and dethroning Dricus du Plessis with ease.
At UFC 328, against “Tazran,” the Chechen-born Emirati will make the first defense of his 185-pound gold.
Strickland’s TKO win over Anthony Hernandez a few weeks back at UFC Houston has earned him a title shot much sooner than expected over No. 2-ranked contender Nassourdine Imavov.
The co-main event of UFC 328 features a heavyweight clash between the No. 2-ranked Alexander Volkov and the No. 5-ranked Waldo Cortes-Acosta.
Acosta has won 8 of his last 9 fights and most recently secured a TKO win over Derrick Lewis at UFC 324.
Volkov, on the other hand, last locked horns with Jailton Almeida at UFC 321 and won by split decision. “Drago” has gotten his hand raised in 5 of his last 6 outings.
The UFC 328 main card also features a rematch between former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz and Bogdan Guskov, after their previous outing ended in a majority draw.
Joaquin Buckley also returns to the octagon at UFC 328 to face Sean Brady. Both welterweights are coming off losses in their previous outings and will be eager to bounce back to winning ways.
The UFC 328 main card also features a lightweight clash between two seasoned veterans: Jeremy Stephens vs. King Green.
Kicking off the main card is a middleweight bout between Ateba Gautier and Ozzy Diaz.

UFC Vegas 116 main event: Aljamain Sterling vs. Youssef Zalal
UFC Perth, live from RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia, on May 2, will be headlined by a welterweight clash between former champion Jack Della Maddalena and a knockout artist hailing from Team Fighting Nerds’ Carlos Prates.
Meanwhile, the UFC Perth co-main event added on Thursday is a lightweight contest between Beneil Dariush and Quillan Salkilld.
