Arman Tsarukyan returned to the mats earlier today and defeated Georgio Poullas at RAF 06 by a 5-3 decision.
However, right after the freestyle wrestling match ended, Tsarukyan, who had just stuffed a takedown in the final seconds, pushed Poullas after hearing the final buzzer, and from top position, punched him in the face.
“Ahalkalakets” in rage was ready to ground and pound his opponent, and to make things worse, both camps entered the mat and attacked each other.
To prevent the melee from escalating further, security stepped in. Both competitors were soon separated and were then escorted backstage.
Why did Arman Tsarukyan punch Georgio Poullas?
The altercation began when the wrestling match between Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas turned into a slapping, pushing, and punching exchange, which appeared to anger the top UFC lightweight contender.
There were multiple open-hand strikes during the first and second rounds, and Tsarukyan’s team was also seen yelling at Poullas for throwing punches during the RAF 06 co-main event.

At RAF 06, when the altercation broke out between Georgio Poullas and Arman Tsarukyan, Merab Dvalishvili was seated in the front row at Mullett Arena beside Sean O’Malley and saw everything unfold live.
After the event, “The Machine” spoke with Poullas backstage and asked him to shake hands with Tsarukyan, put an end to the bad blood, and ask for a rematch.
I want you and Arman to shake hands and make the rematch. I know you guys were slapping each other; it was fun to watch, but now I want to see the winner. Today, we didn’t really see the winner; it was chaos.”
