Mario Bautista delivered a star-making performance, submitting Vinicius Oliveira in the second round of their UFC Vegas 113 headliner.
After an opening round largely dominated by Bautista’s grappling, Oliveira came out for the second stanza looking surprisingly sluggish. That allowed Bautista to secure two more takedowns during the five-minute period.

With just over 30 seconds to go in the second, Bautista moved into the crucifix position and lit up Oliveira with pot shots. That forced Oliveira to scramble, giving up his back in the process. Moments later, Bautista had his forearm cinched under Oliveira’s chin, leaving the Brazilian with no choice but to tap out with only seconds left in the round.

Official Result: Mario Bautista def. Vinicius Oliveira via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:46 of Round 2.
