Lerone Murphy has once more provided a deep dive into his mindset ahead of his next bout against Movsar Evloev. This weekend, in the main event of UFC London, the No. 3-ranked featherweight contender Murphy will be locking horns with top contender Evloev.
Speaking to reporters on media day, Lerone Murphy, who at age 21 survived being shot in the face and neck and earned the nickname “The Miracle” from this near-death experience, said he is no longer afraid of anything or any opponent. He reaffirmed that he’s ready to go all out against Evloev on Saturday to get his hand raised on home turf:
Well, that’s it, and that’s why I’m grateful more than anything. I’m grateful that I’m here today. I’m still grinding, still chipping away at my goals, at my dreams. And that’s why I don’t do this for the applause of everyone else. I do this for myself. Personal challenge and whatnot. So when I’m here on this stage now, main‑eventing in London, it’s massive for me. And if I was to die today, I’d be proud.”
About getting to headline UFC London, “The Miracle” added:
It’s always been on the bucket list of fighting in London, especially headlining. That’s what the goal was, and we’re ticking that off now. So it just shows where my career’s gone and the work I’ve put in to get here as well. So proud moment.”

His opponent, Movsar Evloev, on the other hand, has a similar resume (19-0) and is also undefeated. The 32-year-old Russian fighter has defeated former champ Aljamain Sterling and Arnold Allen in 2024 and also has wins over Diego Lopes and Dan Ige, among others.
The winner of the UFC London headliner is expected to meet current and two-time featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, potentially later this year.

Movsar Evloev aims to finish Lerone Murphy at UFC London
So far, Movsar Evloev has yet to secure a finish in the UFC, which his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, believes is the reason the former hasn’t gotten a title shot yet despite being the top contender. Hence, Evloev plans to get things right by finishing Lerone Murphy on Saturday, getting his hand raised, and then fighting for the title. During an interview with Michael Bisping, he said:
I’ve done more than needed to win this fight. I have been ready for five rounds since I signed with the UFC. I have good cardio, so it’s never been a problem to fight for five rounds. And especially with my style. People get tired with me even if they did five rounds before… I would like to make a finish.”
