No. 3 featherweight contender Lerone Murphy has a do-or-die attitude before he enters the octagon this weekend in the main event of UFC London to face No. 1 contender Movsar Evloev.
Murphy recently appeared in an interview with Megan Olivi and issued a cold statement, when discussing his mindset before the Evloev bout.
The winner of the Murphy vs. Evloev clash will march forward to face current and two-time UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, potentially later this year, and the 34-year-old already has his crosshairs on “The Great.” He told Olivi during the sit-down:
I feel like I’ve been through everything and the worst things in life, and I’ve always said the only thing that can keep me down is death. There is no fire out there that can keep me down. I feel like I’m going into this fight with no fear. What can you really do to me that hasn’t already happened?”

Murphy has faced major adversities to date. Before training in MMA, he wanted to be a footballer, but a devastating knee injury at the age of 16 ruined his dreams, and he had to take leave from something he had adored since a tender age.
Things got worse for the Brit at the age of 21, when he was shot in the face and neck twice. But a lionhearted Murphy survived this near-death experience and earned the nickname “The Miracle” after spending a week in the ICU and undergoing surgery.
And now, his philosophy is clear: ‘There is no fire out there that can keep him down,’ not even the undefeated Movsar Evloev.
Lerone Murphy knocked out Aaron Pico cold in Round 1 at UFC 319 and ruined the latter’s debut, and the Brit now plans to knock Evloev out next. In another interview, shared by media outlets earlier this month, he quipped:
Once these knuckles touch Movsar’s chin, it’s over. I want a knockout, hands clean.”

Most recently, rumors surfaced that Movsar Evloev may not make it to UFC London due to visa issues. However, the Russian fighter quickly dismissed those rumours by posting on Telegram that he has no such problems and is ready for victory this weekend.
