Lerone Murphy irritates Josh Emmett and remains undefeated

Knowing that his opponent had the power to put his head in the third row, Lerone Murphy seemed to have a simple game plan.

Murphy (16-0-1 MMA, 8-0-1 UFC) was busy dancing outside against Josh Emmett (19-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) in an attempt to get away from Emmett’s power. And Emmett seemed to be approaching several times, but he couldn’t clean up Murphy.

On his side, Murphy’s impression was solid midway through 49-46 with a pair of scores of 48-47.

Murphy then said he loves featherweight title shots. The featherweight title was empty by Ilia Topria earlier this year, with former champion Alexander Volkanovsky taking on the challenge for Diego Nunes and Belt at UFC 314 next week.

The featherweight match was UFC in the ESPN 65 main event at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Later on the postwar show, Murphy said he wanted a fight with Brian Ortega to guide his next step.
