After getting his hand raised this past weekend at UFC Houston, Sean Strickland wasted no time in calling out and torching middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev.
“Borz” and “Tarzan” currently share a strained relationship, and now, to add fuel to the fire, Strickland has claimed that he made Chimaev quit during training.
For context, on the JAXXON podcast, one of Chimaev’s teammates said that he recently submitted Strickland at the UFC PI with a rare naked choke while the latter was preparing for the Anthony Hernandez fight.
When Khamzat Chimaev was asked on the same podcast why Strickland no longer likes him, the former hinted at their past training sessions, claiming he had choked out the 34-year-old multiple times.
Sean Strickland says he made Khamzat Chimaev “quit training”
Sean Strickland, after securing a Round 3 TKO win over “Fluffy” at UFC Houston, claimed at the post-fight presser that he made the UFC middleweight titleholder quit during training and labelled Chimaev’s version of the story as fake.
I made him quit training. Witnesses in the audience, where’s Eric [Nicksick] at? I made him quit. No, we were doing positional grappling. ‘Alright, start on my back’ and I was like, first round, I let him f***ng choke me because no one gives a f**k.”
The former champion also claimed that “Borz” came to the gym to train with the ‘lowest level and smallest guys.’
Let me tell you about this little b*tch. I’ll tell you. When I walk into a gym, do you think that I go find the little, weakest man? I say, ‘Let’s spar?’ I go find the biggest, baddest motherf**ker and I’m like, ‘Hey, I want to spar you.’ Every time Chimaev would walk in the gym, he would pick the smallest, lowest-level pro and say, ‘But oh, he looks like my opponent.’ Chimaev’s a f*cking bully.”
The 34-year-old American also took a dig at Chimaev’s desire to move up to light heavyweight in pursuit of two-division glory. Strickland added:
And if you notice what he does in a division, he just runs and fcking hides. Now I want to go to 205 and fight f**king Jiri [Prochazka], who’s not even the f**king champ. You just run and fcking hide. You did it when you trained with us, and you’re doing it in the f**king division.”

Khamzat Chimaev fires back at “liar b*tch” Sean Strickland
Khamzat Chimaev immediately responded to Sean Strickland after the latter alleged that “Borz” would target the smaller guys in the gym. Chimaev wrote:
You liar b****, I always tried to get you, but you were running from me. Ask your coach, he knows.”
