Team Fighting Nerds Jean Silva has news that can already spoil Lerone Murphy and Movsar Evloev’s outing.
Murphy (No. 3 featherweight contender) and Evloev (No. 1 featherweight contender), who are both undefeated, will be locking horns in the main event of UFC London this weekend.
This high-stakes bout is a potential featherweight title eliminator, and the winner of this fight is expected to face current and two-time UFC 145-pound champion Alexander Volkanovski.
However, now Jean Silva has stepped onto the scene, claiming he’s going to fight for the title next.
Jean Silva says he’s going to UFC London to “sign the contract for the belt”
From the airport, Jean Silva shared a clip in which he alleged that Hunter Campbell and Dana White invited him to be in attendance for UFC London.
We are heading out to travel. Got an invite from Hunter and Dana to watch the fight, Evloev vs. Murphy, up close. Really close.”
“Lord” added that he’s going to sign the contract to fight for the belt:
And to sign the contract for the belt. Look, brother, this is going to be the biggest promotion people have ever seen in history. When I sign the contract, I am going to sell this. I am going to treat these guys very well.”
The 29-year-old Brazilian also sent a message to Murphy and Evloev:
If the fight [UFC London main event] ends up being boring, I’m going up there and firing both of them. I don’t even care.”
Check out Jean Silva’s comments below:
Silva (17-3) is currently the No. 6-ranked featherweight contender. His only loss in the UFC came last year in September against Diego Lopes. However, earlier this year, “Lord” returned to winning ways at UFC 324 by beating Arnold Allen by unanimous decision.

So far, there have been no further updates on whether Silva’s claim that he is fighting for the belt next is true.
Meanwhile, Alexander Volkanovski has already made it clear that he won’t entertain undeserving contenders being fast-tracked to a title shot, especially after how the UFC 325 Lopes title rematch played out.
However, is “Lord,” who is one of the UFC’s top knockout artists and a fighter to watch in the featherweight division, unworthy of a title shot if the Murphy vs. Evloev bout turns into a snooze fest?
