After dashing Michael Chandler’s hopes of fighting former UFC double champion Conor McGregor, Dana White has now put a full stop to the up-and-coming rumors of McGregor fighting Jorge Masvidal at the UFC White House event.
While Chandler and McGregor had confirmed that they will be fighting on June 14, White recently opined that he is no longer interested in making this fight happen.
Soon enough, Masvidal entered the scene, claiming that he’s training for something HUGE and hinting at a matchup with ‘The Notorious’ on the South Lawn of the White House.
‘Gamebred’ most recently told Ariel Helwani that the negotiations are going in the right direction and his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, is in talks with the UFC brass to keep the ball rolling and to put Masvidal on the White House card.
However, Dana White has once more put a full stop to both Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal’s much-anticipated return. Earlier today, in an interview with TMZ Sports, when asked about the potential McGregor vs. Masvidal showdown, he said:
“You know what’s funny? In my algorithm on Instagram, I have nothing MMA-related… I don’t listen to any of that goofy sh*t.”
When asked if the rumored ‘Gamebred’ vs. ‘The Notorious’ matchup is to be considered “goofy sh*t,” White quipped:
“That’s goofy sh*t.”
The UFC headhoncho added:
“The MMA world, I don’t listen to any of that sh*t. So literally none of that is on my algorithm… Almost everything you see on the internet about our sport is all wrong.”

Dana White plans to finalize the UFC White House Card fighter lineup by the second week of February
In the same interview, Dana White confirmed that the UFC’s head of production has already visited the White House five times and that all logistics and production details have been finalized. With those elements in place, the only remaining step is matchmaking, which White said will begin immediately after UFC 324 concludes.
“So this Saturday, when this fight ends [UFC 324], usually every Tuesday we have matchmaking. On Monday, we will be matchmaking; on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, we will be building the White House card as soon as that fight ends.”
When asked about whether June 14 will be a numbered event or will be dubbed as UFC White House 2026, Dana White added:
“I haven’t thought about it yet… We haven’t got that far. We build the card, and then we start…. I said I won’t touch this card until February, but now I think we will have it dialed in by the second week of February.”
