UFC 324 official weigh-ins witnessed a frightening scene unfold.
On Friday morning in Las Vegas, Cameron Smotherman became the third fighter to step on the scale and successfully hit the 135.5-pound limit for his bantamweight matchup against Ricky Turcios.
Moments after stepping off, he began to wobble, lost his balance as the blood seemingly rushed from his head, and collapsed face-first onto the floor in a frightening fall.
Smotherman appeared to be unconscious as his body briefly shook, prompting officials from the Nevada commission and members of his team to rush in and turn him onto his back.
After remaining on the stage for several minutes, “The Baby-Faced Killer” was eventually carried away by medical personnel. Shortly afterward, the UFC announced that his fight had been canceled and confirmed he had been transported to a local hospital, though Smotherman’s medical condition remains unclear at this time.
The 28-year-old American came into fight week having dropped back-to-back decision losses to Ricky Simon and Serhiy Sidey in 2025. Smotherman made his Octagon debut at UFC Vegas 99 in October 2024, where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Jake Hadley.
With the bout called off, the UFC 324 card is now trimmed to 12 remaining matchups.
