Daniel Frunza suffered more than TKO’s loss tonight (April 5, 2025) at UFC Vegas 105 Live on ESPN/.ESPN+ For the former, we will be looking at the UFC apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Candidate Series Outstanding was two horrifying cuts left on his cheeks and lips.
With limited MMA experience, despite his official octagon debut on Saturday, Frunza still caged into the cage with a slight bet favorite to former Cage Warriors star Rhys McKee, who went 0-4 with two UFC stints. Mackie owned a better resume and a well-balanced MMA Arsenal, but Furunza brought dangerous power to his first UFC appearance.
Unfortunately for Frunza, Mackie was the one who dealt most damage from his hands early on. He secured multiple knockdowns in the first few minutes of action and had a Hunza on the ropes. Hunza somehow survived and began to gain some momentum. That was before the first round was over, and the judge and Cageside doctors looked closely at Furnza. He was so arrested and continued, the fight was shaken off.
Check out the aftermath of McKee vs. Frunza at the top of the page.
McKee, 29, could have been permanently disconnected from the UFC if he failed to win Saturday night. Some fight fans may have hoped the fight would continue into the second round, but the stop was probably a good call as Hunza’s lips looked like a throwback to Robbie Lawler against Rory MacDonald.
